My Name is Stephanie (Knox) Plaisted. I graduated in 1992 from Edwards-Knox Central School in Russell. After graduation, I received an Associate's Degree in Math and Science from North Country Community College and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Elementary Education from SUNY Potsdam. I later returned to SUNY Potsdam and received a Master's Degree in Reading. I am permanently certified to teach elementary education (N-6) and reading (K-12).

This will be my tenth year teaching fifth grade at East Side. This year I will teach science to the entire fifth grade and ELA and math to my own homeroom. Besides being a teacher, I serve on several committees and coach an Odyssey of the Mind team. The Odyssey of the Mind program promotes problem-solving, critical and spontaneous thinking, and cooperation.

I live in Russell with Glenn (my husband), Dakota (my dog), and Mya (my cat). I enjoy spending time with my family, riding my motorcycle, kayaking, downhill skiing, reading, and playing soccer. I'm also licensed to teach zumba, which keeps me very busy.
