NYS Driver's License 5-HR Course

Sign-ups are conducted at 8:00 a.m. at the Gouverneur High School (prior to instruction).
Anyone enrolling in the course must present a valid
Learner's permit in order to register for the class.

Exercise in one of the North Country’s finest pool facilities located right
in town! The GHS pool facilities have much to offer all members of the community.
The swim times are available throughout the school district's calendar year.
Additional programs are being planned (water walking, tot/parent swim, water zumba).

Interested in discovering the world below the water? This structured program will help you become a
confident entry level diver in open water.

New classes are being formed Tuesday, September 25th @ 4-5PM for 6th graders.
A free demonstration will be presented for all who attend. Further information will be available addressing
new fall programs.
All new karate and self-defense classes are starting at the East Side School.
Lessons are taught Tuesdays from 6-7:30 pm throughout the school year.
The classes are offered through the Continuing Education Program and are open to students in grades
7-12 as well as adults.
A introductory class is being presented on Tuesday, Sept. 11, for all interest students
in the Middle and High School grades.
If you are not involved in a fall sport, this is an excellent program for staying in shape
and developing skills in overall safety, balance, concentration, and fitness. Visit the East Side
Class Tuesday and give the workout a try. Classes are always energizing and challenging!
Learn the art of karate from a highly experienced martial artist. Lessons emphasize personal safety, self-discipline,
fitness, and respect. Beginners and individuals with previous training are all welcome to attend classes. Karate
is a highly motivating activity that improves coordination, increases strength and flexibility, and allows a person
to gain confidence in many areas of self-defense. Uniforms and training manuals are available through the class
Academics are stressed and reviewed in all youth programs.
Adult Fitness - GCS Fitness Center [Use it or

Want to feel better, have more energy and improve your quality of life? Exercise and physical activity
are a great way to gain health benefits and have fun! If you're looking to get started on a routine, tone
your muscles, improve flexibility or meet specific fitness goals check out evening fitness at the GHS Fitness Center.

- 3 treadmills
- 2 elliptical machines
- 1 recumbent bike
- dumb bells
- step boxes
- Stability exercise balls
